About the TESNames Generator

TESNames was born out of necessity. The need to create names that truly fit the world of Tamriel — not random strings of syllables, not generic fantasy names, but names that could actually appear in a dialogue, on a tombstone, in a spellbook, or on a wanted poster in Vivec City.

This tool was made for players, character creators, game masters, fanfiction writers, and anyone who feels that a name should carry meaning. A good name is more than just a sound — it holds history, race, origin, and the tone of the world it belongs to.

The generator combines actual names from the games (Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, ESO) with hand-crafted linguistic rules tailored to each race. Some follow phonetics, others syntax, and some draw from social structures — like the Khajiit. There is no blind syllable shuffling or random mashup of sounds here. Each race follows its own logic.

This project runs entirely locally: no cookies, no analytics, no data collection. It doesn't try to be everything. It simply wants to be useful — for those looking for one name that will stick, and that will sound like it came straight from Tamriel.
